Steve -- Owner/Helm

Steve and Kate bought Uproar in September 2004.

Steve raced Optimist and 420 dinghies (in his youth Rolling Eyes), and also competed in the RYA Youth Match Racing finals before moving into cruiser racing. He has been a member of the crew on 'Flair IV' an Elan 40 for several years and they became the IRC Class 2 National Champions in 2003.

Steve also helmed for the GBR team in the Rolex Commodore's Cup in 2004.

Kate -- Owner/Pit

Steve and Kate bought Uproar in September 2004.

Kate sailed with her Father in the Enterprise class, appearing in regional and national events around the UK. In 2002 she sailed in the Ent Worlds in Goa. In 2004 she was a member of the crew on 'Kudos' an Elan 31.

Sam -- Mainsheet

A former Harry Potter look-alike, Sam has sailed a variety of dinghies and keelboats from Parkstone YC. He joins us for the 2005 seson as mainsheet trimmer.

SamOld -- Trainee Trimmer

Georgie -- Trimmer

Georgie has sailed Cadets in the national squad, and more recently 420s and RS400s at Parkstone. She has also been an enthusiastic big-boat sailer from a young age, and has recently competed in Round the Island, Cork Week and the RYA Youth Match Racing.

She is now racing with the Uproar crew in 2005.

Chris -- Trimmer

Chris has sailed dinghies and on 'Panache' at Poole YC in the last few years. In 2005 he will be trying his hand further aft in the cockpit on Uproar.

He's also desperate to become proud owner of 'The Longest Hair Award' within the Uproar crew...

Charlie -- Bow / Mast

Charlie may seem to spend most of the time alseep, but you've never seen anyone move quite so quick when you mutter 'gybe!' Thrown into the water at a young age sailed cadets back in the ninties, then jumped into PYRA yacht racing scene; terrorizing events such as corke week, torbay, cowes and the harbour locals with his partner in crime SammyP. Both retired from the Commodores Cup in supremacy. Mr. Green

Richard -- Shore Crew / Support boat

Richard, Steve's father, provides invaluable advice and assistance with maintenance matters, in addition to supporting us with the rather useful TT/Uproar.

Ian -- Occasional Trimmer/Bowman

Ian started sailing at Poole YC in Optimists, before moving onto Mirrors and then spending far too many years crewing with Steve in the 420...

Mixed in there somewhere is a fair bit of sailing on a variety of bigger boats, which since moving to uni has almost replaced dinghy sailing altogether (with the odd exception!)

For the last few years, Ian has mainly been on the bow of Flair IV, competing with the team in most events around the Solent and as part of the British Commodores Cup Team in 2004.

He has a weakness for red wine, which can often be exploited to get computer support and/or website design!

Dan -- Anything going

Dan 'Brad Pitt' Vickers started his sailing career in the extreme high performance dingy classes (namely mirrors), the high levels of strength, skill and technique needed to sail these boats soon took its toll. Dan then moved on to the 420 and eventually some Int 14s for a bit of fun (until it started delaminating...)

He has also helmed in several youth match racing events and has been bow and main (sometimes at the same time) on a J92, main on a J110 and done various positions on Elan 333s (among other stuff).

Tor -- Occasional Crew

Tor is Kate's little sister, but don't let that fool you! She's mainly sailed dinghies at Parkstone YC, but will be making guest appearences on Uproar in 2005

Tom -- Former Trimmer (Now retired to life in the Navy!)

Tom has raced Toppers, Mirrors and 420s in the dinghy world and is also a fairly experienced yacht racer as both bow, mast and grinder. He has also competed in the RYA Youth Match Racing amongst various other events which he cant remember for some reason or other.

He has a power ranger costume which is ace, and when he is older and rich he would like to own an island....

Recently he has been doing a lap of the world and is currently training in the Royal Navy.
